Two longtime advocates join Zufall Board of Directors
In July, Martita Roman and Peg Zufall were appointed to Zufall Health’s Board of Directors. Though new to this important leadership role, both are already deeply connected to our health center and mission. We are thrilled to welcome their unique perspectives and shared commitment to our community.
Martita Roman, who has been a patient at Zufall – Morristown for many years, credits her providers with saving her life on two occasions. Originally from Puerto Rico, Roman lives in Morristown and serves as a catechist teacher at her church. With past volunteer experience educating her community about health care and other resources during COVID-19, she notes that many of her neighbors “don’t know about the wonderful services available to them at Zufall.” Roman adds, “I look forward to helping more people benefit from the care that has been a lifeline for my family and me.”
Peg Zufall, a musician and teacher who lives in Mount Tabor, is the daughter of Zufall Health’s late founders, Bob and Kay Zufall. She graciously supported her father’s leadership role with the health center during the final years of his life. She has also served as a member of Zufall’s Arts in Health program committee, helping curate art exhibitions and organize opening reception events. Outside of the health center, she regularly volunteers with local music and historical society programs. “Joining the board is a great honor, and I’m excited to enter this new phase of continuing my parents’ legacy,” said Zufall.
Fran Palm, President and CEO, shared her enthusiasm: “Martita and Peg are valuable additions to our Board. Their dedication and longstanding ties to Zufall Health will greatly strengthen our efforts to serve our patents and community.”
