Rep. Leonard Lance Visits Zufall to Announce Federal Funding Grant
Dover, NJ — Congressman Leonard Lance visited Zufall Health in Dover recently to announce the approval of $3.1 million in annual federal funding from the Department of Health and Human Services that helps the health center provide care to its 37,000 patients.
“Zufall is the best in the business and deserves this merit-based grant,” Lance told a small gathering of staff and guests that included Assemblyman Anthony Bucco. “Community health centers like Zufall bring experienced medical professionals into under-served communities; keeping them strong and accessible must be part of any federal health care system.”
During his visit, Lance toured the facility and met with patients as well as conducted what he called a mini town hall event where he fielded questions from Zufall staff.
Zufall President and Chief Operating Officer Eva Turbiner thanked Lance for his continued support.
“We are so grateful that our elected officials understand the work that we do,” she said. “ I don’t think that’s the case everywhere, but it certainly is the case here. This funding enables us to continue to serve patients throughout north and central New Jersey who depend on us for essential health care services.”
