Zufall Health recently hosted a delegation of high-level health officials from the People’s Republic of China headed by Wang Hersheng, Vice Minister of China’s National Health commission. The group, visiting the U.S. to attend a United Nations General Assembly meeting, was interested in touring the health center’s Dover site and learning about Zufall’s approach to primary care and community health. China Delegation Visits Zufall Health to Learn About American Health Care

Dover, N.J — A delegation of high-level health officials from the People’s Republic of China recently visited Zufall Health Center in Dover for an up-close look at an American health center and to discuss Zufall’s approach to primary care and community health.

Wang Hesheng, Vice Minister of China’s National Health Commission, and his six-member team were in the United States to attend a United Nations General Assembly meeting. Accompanying them on their Zufall visit was Thomas Engels, Acting Administrator of the Health Resources and Services Administration of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Zufall Emphasizes Career Development on Train Up Day

Zufall Health joined Community Health Centers (CHCs) throughout the state on October 10th for a Train Up Day to encourage career development and workforce opportunities within CHCs. Train Up Day provides a chance to share available positions and job openings for employees to grow within their organization. During the event, Zufall highlighted success stories of staff members who moved up the ladder, instructed employees about the various departments within the Health Center, as well as provided information about training and education opportunities available to employees.

Zufall Health Celebrates Groundbreaking at New West Orange Site

West Orange, N.J. (August 15, 2018) — Zufall Health, a federally funded community health center, commemorated National Health Center Week today with a groundbreaking ceremony for a $4.5 million building that will provide a patient-centered medical home to the most vulnerable residents of West Orange. The new site at 49 Mount Pleasant Avenue will be a relocation and expansion of Zufall’s office on Northfield Avenue which opened in 2014.

New Jersey’s Commissioner of Health Visits Zufall Health in Dover

Dover, NJ — (July 12, 2018)  Zufall Health recently welcomed  New Jersey Health Commissioner Dr. Shareef Elnahal who visited the health center’s medical and dental offices at its Dover headquarters site.

Led on a tour by Zufall Chief Operating Officer Eva Turbiner, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Rina Ramirez, and Chief Dental Officer Dr. Sam Wakim, the Commissioner had the opportunity to meet Manuel Hernandez, a young man who has been a Zufall patient since childhood.  He also interacted with medical, dental, and administrative staff.

Zufall’s Outreach Team Volunteers with America’s Grow-a-Row!

Members of Zufall's Outreach Department recently volunteered to spend an afternoon planting sweet potatoes at America's Grow-a-Row. Together the team planted 4,000 plants! The plants should yield about 32,000 pounds of sweet potatoes, which is 128,000 servings! We are so proud of our Outreach Team for their hard work! With the help of over 9,100 volunteers annually, America's Grow-a-Row is able to plant, pick, rescue, and donate over 1.3 million pounds...

Zufall Health Recognizes Dedicated Volunteers

Ronald I. Deblinger, D.M.D., Named 2018 Zufall Volunteer Honoree

Somerville, NJ (June 5, 2018) – More than 100 volunteers who give their time, talents, and energy to Zufall Health were honored recently at the Fourth Annual Volunteer Appreciation event at the Bridgewater Manor. The volunteers provide a wide range of supportive services at the nonprofit community health center which offers affordable medical and dental care to patients in six New Jersey counties.
