Delta Dental and Zufall Bring Smiles and Free Dental Care to More Than 200 Veterans (Video incl.)

Dover, NJ — Army veteran Frank Mazzie hadn’t seen a dentist in a dozen years, so he jumped at the chance for what he considered a “goodwill mission for my mouth.”
The Nutley resident and more than 200 other veterans from North and Central Jersey flocked to Dover this weekend to be part of the state’s first ever Mission of Mercy — Smiles for Our Heroes, a Veteran’s Day observance to honor them with free, much-needed dental care and more.
The two-day event, a partnership of Delta Dental of New Jersey and Zufall Health, brought together 140 volunteer dental professionals and clinical and non-clinical support staff to provide services ranging from cleanings and x-rays to root canals, extractions, and even dentures.
Breast Cancer Awareness Event Stresses Prevention
Participants at the 14th annual Breast Cancer Awareness Month kickoff in Somerset County joined Freeholder Patricia Walsh, second row-fifth from left, in support of the awareness campaign. “Paint For Prevention” Event Explores Healthy Relationships Message
Zufall Health’s Sexual Assault Support Services (SASS) program partnered with The Center for Great Expectations (CGE) to host the first “Paint for Prevention” event, which was held during CGE’s “Family Night” on October 18th. Zufall Health Improves Dental Care for Warren County Children
Dover, N.J. — Zufall Health, a nonprofit community health center operating in north and central New Jersey, has successfully been working with Warren County health professionals and community organizations to reduce the incidence of dental disease in the county’s under-served children.
Through a grant funded by The Horizon Foundation for New Jersey, Zufall has implemented a program of oral health education, professional training, and advocacy activities that has improved access to preventive services and regular treatment for high-risk children.

Zufall Patient Navigator receives Lester Z. Lieberman Award
