The Zufall Health Delta Dental Mobile is a licensed extension of Zufall Health. Community partners in areas of high need throughout Zufall’s service area are able to request the van to visit their site to provide high-quality, affordable dental care.

To request a van visit, please email Michelle Blanchfield. To view the van’s schedule, click here.

Eligibility: Zufall provides preventive dental services to children in high-need areas, the homeless, public housing residents, veterans, and farm workers and their family members via a mobile dental van. Patients who are uninsured or have Medicaid or NJ Family Care can receive services on the van. Pre-registration is usually required but walk-ons are also welcome. Individuals with private insurance cannot be seen on the van.

Appointments: Once a van visit is arranged with a partner site, a liaison at the site schedules the appointments a week before the event. The Van/Outreach staff provides information and a scheduling template to the host site. In cases where a liaison is not available, the Zufall Outreach staff will register the patients and schedule the appointments.

Services: The dental van offers a range of dental services for children and adults.

Procedure: New dental patients who are not currently registered and receiving medical care at Zufall Health must register prior to making their first dental appointment. Registration can be done on site at one of our locations in Dover, Morristown, Flemington, Hackettstown, West Orange, Newton or Somerville. Visit our locations page here. To request a van visit, please email Michelle Blanchfield. To view the van’s schedule, click here.

Registration:

New patients will need to bring:
1. Identification
2. Proof of income such as a pay stub, income tax return, or a letter of employment
3. Verification of address

Patients without health insurance will be charged a sliding scale fee based on their ability to pay.

First Visit: The first dental visit consists of a clinical exam, x-rays, and treatment plan. Patients are then scheduled for an appointment for a cleaning or periodontal scaling based on the condition of their gums. All patients should bring a current list of medications, allergies, hospitalizations, and medical problems for the first visit and inform the dentist of any changes at future visits.
