Zufall Provides Free Dental Care and Fun on Feb. 1st for “Give Kids A Smile Day”
Dover, N.J. (Jan. 14, 2019) — Zufall Health, an organization of community health centers, will offer free dental services and fun activities to eligible kids from infancy to 12 years of age on Friday, February 1st as part of “Give Kids A Smile Day”. The event will be held at the Zufall Healthy Smile Center in Flemington and at Zufall’s Dental Center in Dover.
The health center’s dental team will be providing free dental check-ups, teeth polishings, fluoride treatments, and oral hygiene education along with fun and prizes. There will also be visits from Delta Dental of New Jersey’s Captain Supertooth and the Zufall Tooth Fairy.
Children are eligible for the free services if they do not have a regular dentist and have no dental insurance. Anyone wishing to participate must preregister their child by calling the Flemington office at 908-968-4440 or the Dover office at 973-328-3344.
“We’ve planned a program that will be both fun and educational to give young children a great first impression of a visit to the dentist as well as provide older kids with important and helpful oral health information,” said Dr. Sam Wakim, Zufall’s Chief Dental Officer. “Best of all, everything is free.”
“Give Kids A Smile Day” is a nationwide annual event sponsored in the state by the New Jersey Dental Association as part of National Children’s Dental Health Month. Organized 16 years ago, it brings together the state’s dental community to ensure delivery of care to thousands of children from low-income families and under-served communities who otherwise might not be able to afford or access care.
In addition to this one-day event, Zufall’s program this year to improve access to dental care for children is being supported by organizations including the Provident Bank Foundation for activities in Morris County, Johnson & Johnson Foundation for Hunterdon County, and the Horizon Foundation for Warren County.
